Day 16: Burns OR - Battle Mountain NV

If you thought yesterday's entry was thin be prepared for exactly much less today.  This is what the scenery looked like for 275 miles:

And this is what was on view when I arrived:

The other water tower, on the Shoshone Reservation
Bumper of Larry Lem's truck

Since which time the main entertainment has been observing the entire Lem family trying to sort out mix-ups (various) over room bookings and marvelling at the Ligvoets vehicle of choice, viz. a Toyota Tundra which, to the uninitiated, is a full-size pickup truck with a similar surface area to Wiltshire.  Time to chill out a bit before the proper work starts tomorrow, assuming that Al'n'Alice and Mikey Sova haven't done it all already.  Anyone thinking I'm getting up at 05:30 tomorrow, though, can bog off.

  1. Mr L, please can you stick to the universally recognised international standards when referring to area, these as you know being Olympic sized swimming-pools, sportball pitches and multiples of Welsh Wales. Introducing your own arbitrary county sizes will go against you in any subsequent application to the Guild of Globe Gadding Writers.
    Thank you.

  2. Ps, the last comment about sizes was from me.
